Notes

Minimum effort. Maximum flavour. Jazz up sausages with this simple marinade, for a simple weeknight meal.

Ingredients

  • 4 sausages

  • 2 tbsp. soy sauce

  • 2 tbsp. honey

  • 1 tbsp. wholegrain mustard (Dijon or American would also work here, as would English, but you'd only want half the amount)

  • 2 small baguettes (part-baked baguettes are great for this, as they have such a long shelf life. However, if you're shopping the same day you're cooking this, you can't beat a fresh French stick!)

  • Butter (optional)

  • Green salad with your favourite dressing

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C fan/220°C/gas mark 7.

  2. Place your sausages on a baking tray (adding a sheet of tin foil underneath them will make the washing up a LOT easier).

  3. Cook for 20-25 minutes, turning halfway through.

  4. Meanwhile, combine the soy sauce, honey and mustard.

  5. Transfer your sausages to a small oven proof dish, and cover with the marinade.

  6. Cook for a further 10 minutes. If using par-baked baguettes, pop them in the oven now too.

  7. If you're feeling indulgent, butter your baguettes, and pop in your sausages.

  8. Serve with your lightly dressed salad on the side.
